For families leaving Ollie

Looking for an Ollie alternative? Meet Sense.

Ollie shuts down on November 6. Sense keeps your family's calendar, meal plan, shopping list, chores, and reminders in one place the whole family sees, and fills it in from the emails, flyers, and screenshots you send it.

Free to try. No credit card required.

The short version

Ollie is shutting down. Your family's plan doesn't have to go with it.

Ollie announced on October 30 that November 6, 2026 is its last day, for both the Ollie assistant and Ollie for Meals. Billing is canceled and unused months are refunded. Ollie was a good assistant for the parent holding the load. Sense takes a different approach: instead of a text thread to one parent, it keeps one shared plan the whole family opens, and AI fills it in from what you forward, photograph, or share.

For Ollie families

What you used Ollie for, and where it lives in Sense.

The jobs most families gave Ollie have a home in Sense from day one.

School emails turned into dates

Forward a newsletter, a sign-up email, or a camp PDF and Sense pulls out every event, deadline, and reminder onto the family calendar. Share a WhatsApp message, a screenshot, or a photo of a flyer the same way.

Your calendar, kept whole

Connect Google Calendar, and subscribe to Apple iCloud, Outlook, and school or sports feeds. Anything Ollie added to your Google or Outlook calendar shows up right alongside everything else.

Meal plans and the shopping list

Plan the week's dinners on a shared meal calendar, save recipes from any link, and send ingredients to a shopping list that sorts itself by aisle.

A daily summary

Get a daily email of what's coming up at the hour you choose, plus reminders on your phone before the things that matter.

Ask in plain words

Ask Sense answers "what's on Thursday?", adds events and list items, and helps with recipes and homework. Tell it the family facts that matter, like allergies or who plays what, and it remembers them.

One flat family price

No per-reply meter. Premium is $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year for the whole family and unlimited AI actions.

How Sense is different

A plan the whole family sees, not a thread that scrolls away.

Ollie kept one parent informed. Sense is built so nobody has to ask what's happening Thursday.

Shared, not forwarded

Every parent, caregiver, and kid with a phone opens the same calendar, lists, and meal plan on iPhone, Android, or the web. Changes show up for everyone.

Kids are part of it

Chores, routines, rewards, and allowance, assigned to each kid. Kids can have their own login, or use Kid Mode on a shared iPad.

A screen in the kitchen

Sense Hub turns an old iPad or Android tablet into an always-on family display with today's schedule, meals, and chores.

You choose what it sees

Sense reads what you send it, not your whole mailbox. Forwarded emails are deleted after 90 days and only the events and details stay.

How to switch

How to move from Ollie before November 6.

A week is enough. Most of these steps take a couple of minutes. The full checklist is in our guide to moving off Ollie before it shuts down.

Step 01

Save your Ollie export

When Ollie texts your data export, save a copy somewhere you control, like Notes, Files, or your email. Links in texts can stop working after the shutdown.

Step 02

Finish anything Ollie was doing for you

Pending bookings, grocery orders, and bill payments won't carry over anywhere. Complete or cancel them yourself before November 6.

Step 03

Connect your calendar to Sense

Events Ollie created live in your Google or Outlook calendar. Connect it and they appear on the family calendar.

Step 04

Invite your family

Everyone who was in your Ollie group text joins on their own phone and sees the same calendar, lists, and meal plan.

Step 05

Forward your first school email

This is where Sense earns its keep. Forward a newsletter and it becomes events and reminders on the shared calendar.

Step 06

Tell Ask Sense what it should know

Using your Ollie export as a guide, tell Ask Sense the facts and routines that matter: allergies, schools, weekly activities, what the family likes to eat.

What comes over directly

Your Google, Apple, and Outlook calendars, including anything Ollie added to them, plus school and sports feeds with a share link. An ICS file imports straight in.

What you set up again

Meal preferences, recurring reminders, and family facts. You don't have to retype everything: tell Ask Sense in a sentence or two, or forward the emails they came from.

A few honest notes

Before you make the switch.

  • Sense is not affiliated with Ollie.
  • Sense is an app, not a text-message service. If texting a number was what you loved about Ollie, Sense will feel different.
  • Sense does not book appointments, pay bills, or place grocery orders. It keeps the plan; you or your family do the errand.
  • Sense does not read your whole inbox. You forward what matters, or set up an auto-forward rule for school senders.
  • Here's everything Sense does, and our side-by-side comparison of Sense and Ollie, so you can decide before you switch.

Ollie questions, answered

What Ollie families ask us most.

Is Sense affiliated with Ollie?

No. Sense is an independent AI family organizer, not connected to Ollie. We built this page because Ollie families are looking for where to go next.

When is Ollie shutting down?

Ollie announced on October 30, 2026 that November 6, 2026 is its last day of service. This covers both the Ollie assistant and the Ollie for Meals app. Ollie says billing is canceled and partial or unused months are refunded.

What happens to my Ollie data?

Ollie says it will text you an export of your data. Save it somewhere you control before November 6, because Ollie has not said what happens to data after that date. Events Ollie added to your Google or Outlook calendar live in that calendar, not in Ollie, so they stay put. Connect that calendar to Sense and they show up on your family calendar.

Can I text Sense like I texted Ollie?

No. Sense is an app for iPhone, Android, and the web, not a text-message service. You can chat with Ask Sense in the app, talk to it with Siri or Alexa, forward emails to it, or share photos, screenshots, and PDFs into it. What you get in return is a shared calendar, meal plan, and lists the whole family sees, instead of a thread that scrolls away.

Is Sense free?

Sense is free to try, no credit card required. The free plan includes 10 AI actions a month for the whole family. Premium is $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year for unlimited AI actions, plus meal planning, chores, and Sense Hub, at one flat price with no per-message meter. See pricing.
