Calendar Sync

Calendar not syncing? Common fixes

Most sync problems come down to timing, a link that changed, or the same calendar connected twice. Start here.

A new event hasn't shown up yet

Calendars connected with a link are checked about once an hour, so give a brand-new event a little time. Google two-way sync is much faster, usually a minute or two. In the other direction, Google, Apple, and Outlook decide for themselves how often they refresh a subscribed Sense link - often hours.

Events show up twice

The same calendar is connected two ways. Common causes:

  • You turned on Google two-way sync but still have the Google calendar's secret iCal link connected. Remove the link.
  • You add Sense events to Google with two-way sync and subscribe to your Sense link in Google. Keep one.
  • You import a calendar into Sense and also subscribe that calendar to Sense's link. Pick one direction per calendar.

I can't edit an event

Events from a calendar link are read-only in Sense because they belong to the other calendar - edit them there. With Google two-way sync, calendars marked Read-only are ones you subscribed to in Google rather than own, so Google doesn't let Sense change them.

Sense says Reconnect

Google needs you to sign in again, often after a password change or after access was removed in your Google account. Tap Reconnect under Accounts in Settings → Connected Calendars.

A calendar link stopped working

  • Google: resetting the secret address makes the old one stop working. Copy the new one and add it again.
  • Apple: turning Public Calendar off and back on creates a new link.
  • Outlook: unpublishing the calendar ends the link. Publish again and copy the new ICS link.

Events I add in Sense aren't in Google

Pick a destination under Add events to Google in Settings → Connected Calendars. Until you do, events you create in Sense stay inside Sense.

Still stuck? Email us with the calendar's name and an event that's missing, and we'll take a look.
