Set up a PIN
Your PIN is a 4-digit code that keeps grown-up things grown-up. Kid Mode uses it to lock settings and edits, and you can use it to protect Documents and chore approvals on any device.
Set it up
- Open Settings → PIN Lock and tap Set up PIN.
- Choose a 4-digit PIN and enter it again to confirm.
- Under Protected Features, choose what needs your PIN.
What it protects
- Documents - on by default, so family records stay private on a shared device.
- Chore approval - asks for your PIN to approve or deny a completed chore, so kids can't approve their own. See Chore approval.
- Kid Mode - always uses your PIN to open Settings, leave Kid Mode, or make grown-up changes. See Kid Mode.
Change or remove it
In Settings → PIN Lock, tap Manage PIN. You'll need your current PIN to change it or turn it off.
Forgot your PIN?
- When Sense asks for your PIN, tap Forgot PIN?.
- Enter your Sense account password and tap Reset PIN. This removes your PIN.
- Set a new one in Settings → PIN Lock.
Your PIN belongs to your Sense account, so it's the same on every device you sign in to. It's separate from App Lock, which locks the whole app with Face ID or your device passcode.
