Two-way sync with Outlook
Two-way sync connects Sense to your Outlook calendar. Your Outlook events show up in Sense, events Sense creates can land in an Outlook calendar you choose, and an edit or delete on either side shows up on the other. It works with Outlook.com, Hotmail, and Live accounts, and with Microsoft 365 work and school accounts.
What syncs
- Outlook to Sense. Events from the Outlook calendars you turn on appear on your Sense calendar, in the color and family member you pick. Changes made in Outlook show up in Sense within about 20 minutes.
- Sense to Outlook. Edits and deletes you make in Sense reach Outlook within about a minute. Events added in Sense go to Outlook once you pick a destination (below).
- Repeating events. A whole series, or just one day of it: move or delete a single occurrence in either app and the other follows.
Connect your Microsoft account
- In Sense, open Settings → Connected Calendars and tap Connect a calendar.
- Choose Outlook, then tap Continue with Microsoft.
- Sign in and tap Accept. Microsoft shows Sense as a verified app from Intuitive Apps LLC, asking to read and update your calendars.
- Back in Sense, choose which calendars to sync and tap Sync. Your main calendar starts switched on.
- Optionally, tap a calendar's color dot to set its color and who it shows as.
Choose where Sense events go
Events that start in Sense stay in Sense until you pick a calendar for them. In Settings → Connected Calendars, under Sense In Other Apps, choose an Outlook calendar for new Sense events. You can pick one calendar in total, Outlook or Google. To stop, choose Keep them in Sense only.
Read-only events and calendars
- Calendars shared with you to view only show a Read-only tag. Their events come into Sense, but changes made in Sense can't go back.
- Meetings you organize that have guests are read-only in Sense. Outlook emails every guest when such a meeting changes, so Sense leaves them alone. Change them in Outlook.
- Sense never adds guests or sends invitations through Outlook.
Common questions
I used to sync Outlook with a published link. Do I still need it?
No. Once two-way sync is on, remove the link calendar from Sense, or each event shows twice. You can also unpublish the calendar in Outlook.
What if Sense says Reconnect?
Microsoft sometimes asks you to sign in again, for example after a password change. Tap Reconnect on the account in Settings → Connected Calendars and sign in. Syncing picks up where it left off.
I deleted one day of a repeating event in Outlook. Can I bring it back from Sense?
No. Outlook doesn't allow a deleted occurrence to be restored, so add that day back in Outlook if you need it.
What happens if I disconnect?
Its calendars stop syncing and the events they brought in are removed from Sense. Events you created in Sense stay in Sense, and anything already in Outlook stays in Outlook. To disconnect, tap the ... on the account's card.
