Getting Started
Add family members
Family members are who Sense organizes around. Each one gets a color, and events, chores, and reminders can be assigned to them. How you add someone depends on whether they need their own login - there are two flows, both under Settings → My Family.
Add a child
For kids you'll manage yourself (no login needed):
- Open Settings → My Family.
- Under Children, tap Add child.
- When asked "Will they have their own phone?", choose No, I'll manage their info for a managed child. (Choose Yes to send an older child an email invite for their own login.)
- Enter their name and pick an avatar and color.
- Optionally add a birthday, grade, school, or nickname - these help Sense route school events to the right kid.
Invite an adult
For a partner or co-parent who should have their own account:
- In Settings → My Family, tap Add member.
- Enter their email and tap Send Invite.
- They'll get an email to create an account or sign in, and then share your family's calendar, lists, and everything else.
Kids don't get their own logins by default. When a child shares a tablet, use Kid Mode to keep that device kid-safe without juggling accounts.
Why colors and birthdays matter
A member's color follows them everywhere - on the calendar, chores, and reminders - so a shared calendar stays readable. Birthdays you add here show up on the calendar each year automatically, no reminder to set.
