Profiles for people who do not use Sense

Not everyone you plan around is in Sense. A grandparent who does Tuesday pickups, a nanny, the dog's vet visits, or a carpool that still needs a driver all belong on the calendar, but none of them should be a child or need a login. A profile is a name and a color for exactly that.

Add a profile

  1. Open Settings → My Family.
  2. Under Profiles, choose Add profile.
  3. Give it a name and say what it is: a person (grandparent, sitter) or a label (a pet, an open slot like "Help With Rides").
  4. Add notes if they help ("no car on Thursdays"), then pick an avatar and color.

What a profile can do

  • Be chosen under Who's going on any event, and under Assign to on a reminder.
  • Show on the calendar in its own color, with its own row in the calendar filter and its own column in the day view.
  • Be named in chat: "put Grandma on Thursday pickup" works once the profile exists.

A profile never gets chores, feathers, Kid Mode, or a login. A reminder assigned to a profile notifies the parents, since the profile has no phone.

Share their plan with them

A profile can have its own plan page: the next eight days of what is assigned to them, plus your notes, at a private link that needs no app or login. In Settings → My Family, choose Share their plan on the profile.

  • The link is always current. Move the dentist, add a pickup, and the page already shows it. Nothing to resend.
  • Notes live on the page. Open the link while signed in and you can add a note to any day, and fill in Good to know: home address, allergies and safety, house rules, anything else. The person you shared with sees the plain page.
  • Also show adds the people they look after, so a nanny's page carries the kids' days too. Private events appear only when the profile itself is on them.
  • You send the link. Copy it, or on a phone tap Send to drop it into Messages or WhatsApp. There is nothing to resend later.
  • Stop sharing turns the link off at once. Make a new link replaces it with a different one. An optional PIN adds a second check for a link that gets forwarded.

Someone added as a child by mistake

If a grandparent or a label was added under Kids before profiles existed, open that child and choose Convert to a profile. Everything already assigned to them stays; grade, school and birthday are dropped and they leave Kid Mode, chores and rewards.

Profiles are available on the web today and are coming to the phone app. A profile added here shows up on events and the calendar everywhere.
